On this page you can find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Tyke Racing.
If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for though don’t worry, just contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
Do you have an age limit?
You must be aged eight and over to drive a kart at Tyke Racing. We have no upper age limit!
Is there a height restriction for the kids’ karts?
We don’t have a height restriction, however all drivers must have an inside leg measurement of 21 inch or above to press firmly on the pedals.
Can kids race in the adult karts?
Under 14 year olds can only drive in a 25 Lap Practice Session, 50 Lap Practice Session or a Tyke Sprint event using our cadet karts.
In the interests of safety, under 14s can only race with other under 14s unless part of a family session. We will not mix children from one booking with adults from another.
What is the minimum group size?
There is no minimum group size for our events (although it is much better if you have somebody to race against). To take part in a Tyke Grand Prix, there must be a minimum of 5 drivers (and 14+ years of age).
Do you race all year?
Yes, although we have an outdoor circuit, we are able to run all year unless there is snow or ice on the track. The combination of ultra-grippy brand-new tarmac and sticky kart tyres means we achieve an immense amount of grip, even in the wet.
